Amazing Race 6 Hotel Report: Norwegian Wood

This weeks Amazing Race pit stop was at Nesheimstunet in Norway.  An old Farmhouse (pictured to the right) served as pit stop number two for the racers.  The farm is located about 16 kilometeres north of the center of Voss, and the farm overlooks the lake Lønavatnet.

Today the farm is owned and operated by the Voss museum, but regulars like us can't spend a night a the farmhouse, so we scoured the web looking for other alternatives in Voss.

Of course, we were looking for a hotel made entirely of the famed Norwegian Wood, and we found one! Fleischer's Hotel in Voss looks to be an interesting stay.  The 90 room all wooden hotel is run by the 5th generation of the Fleischer family.  Aside from the wooden architecture, you will also find a swimming pool with two saunas, Jacuzzi, and a children's pool. They offer billiard and table tennis, as well as children's activities such as check-in surprise, playroom, movies, and special program for children.

Whether you are going to Voss to kayak, snowboard, or track down the Amazing Racer's, Fleischer's hotel might be a place for you to crash, under the Norwegian wood.
