Every Tuesday National Geographic forks over their "A" list deals, and according to NG, A is for affordable.  What is this, some sort of Susan Grafton novel?  Anyway, this week does highlight a bargain stay at the Rookwood Inn in Lenox, MA.  Of course, you are going to save a bundle when you stay at any New England inn from now until the end of April.  At the Rookwood, weeknights will cost you $80 a night, and weekends $106.25.

The Inn is in the middle of the Berkshires in western Massachusetts.  If you are thinking about braving the cold and heading to New England to enjoy this deal, we suggest you try to journey to New England between now and the end of the year.  The holiday season can offer temps in the 40s and 50s (could be lower), and plenty of holiday activities.
