Wynn on the Strip
Every time we drive by, or to, the Fashion Show Mall on Spring Mountain and Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip), which is often since shopping rocks, all we can look at is the new Wynn Las Vegas metallic orange mega-resort. When one is driving east on Spring Mountain and looking at Wynn, it is the only thing in one's view, and its u-shape is very inviting.
If we drive past Las Vegas Boulevard, of course, slow moving traffic ensues, due to construction on both sides, the left is Wynn Las Vegas (set to open in April 2005), and on the right is Sheldon Adelson's Palazzo (set to open in 2007). It's funny to think about the rivalry between these two gaming moguls as one drives past the construction and dust.
Then there's another rivalry. Donald Trump filed plans to build what would be the tallest hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. The 64-story hotel-condominium tower would be built on a portion of the Frontier Hotel property, right across from the Wynn Las Vegas and next to the Fashion Show Mall. Do you think he picked that spot for a reason?
Here is a guess: there's going to be some heat created by the close proximity of these three giants. Stay tuned hotel mavens!
