NYC Hotels: The Blue Moon Hotel, will they open before THOR?

October 5, 2004 at 4:02 AM | by | Comments (0)

Curbed reports on the The Blue Moon Hotel, the other Lower East Side property, which is set to open soon, and yes, we have heard this song and dance before from another LES hotel. Blue Moon is an eight-story, 22-room tenement turned boutique guest house.  Inside, look for modern luxuries like whirlpool baths and a jazz-filled basement lounge.

Rooms are set to run over $200 per night, and a street-level kosher restaurant and bakery will complete the property. What is the lesson here? Boutique hotels are so hot that even a near condemned building may get turned into some developers dream hotel. Will it work? Our answer should come in a couple months.
