How did we miss this?  Maybe because we were spending part of our week in New York, where we were refused access to THOR's rooms (too early said THOR), we mentally shut down, or maybe the Red Sox haze was thicker than we thought.  In any event, Curbed has pointed us to a blogger who recently reported from far inside the Lower East Side's newest hotel.

...the consensus was pretty much: ghetto. the room is nice enough, with a robin's-egg blue wall, poufy white bedspread, black armchairs and bathroom. but the lamps are crooked, and so is the flat-screen tv. the heated bathroom floor is cool, but the window doesn't close. you get to shower in front of a full-length clear window open to the entire cityscape, which could rattle some guests. the lamps are really lame; the rest of the furniture, maybe a step above ikea.

She goes on to say she couldn't get a hairdryer at the hotel, no matter how hard she tried.

We should remind you that this hotel is brand new, so working out the kinks is absolutely expected.  However, it sounds like the service attitude at THOR is in need of some looking into before the property moves from soft launch to grand opening, which is scheduled for early next year...(insert cynical laughter here).

We will give the hotel a chance to fully open before we visit (well, that and they won't let us in early).
