Park Central NYC - stay away

Courtesy of Priceline, I spent a miserable visit to NYC at the Park Central Hotel on 7th Avenue at 56th Street.  Lovely renovation of the lobby, but rooms are two-star quality at best, despite Priceline's claim that it's a three-star.  Peeling paint, stained carpeting, hooks on the walls holding no picture, lukewarm water for four days (it because a running joke among strangers on the elevators: "how was your cold shower this morning?"), surly front desk staff.  I'm still fighting with Priceline to get them to give me at least a partial refund and (more importantly) to change their star rating for this dump.  Steer clear if you're booking your own reservations directly.
