The Villas at Le Sereno St. Barth Can Be All Yours For $10 Million
We have a love-hate relationship with resorts whose rooms are bigger than your average single-family home, so it was a with a mixture of delight, disbelief, and unadulterated envy that we learned of the three new Christian Liaigre-designed villas at Le Sereno Resort on St. Barth’s Grand Cul-de-Sac beach.
Each one of the three-bedroom mini-mansions spreads out to over 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, taking advantage of Grand Cul-de-Sac’s dramatic vistas. According to Liaigre’s press release:
The design of the villas emphasizes simplicity, serenity and attention to detail with ample use of warm, natural textures of varying woods and stone that contrast with the dramatic colors of the view.

Privacy Reigns At The Le Toiny, Sort Of

Ok, we have chronicled a lot of hellish hotel stories this week, so how 'bout a good one?
Let's discuss Le Toiny in St Barthélemy, Caribbean.
Fine, this place is probably a little overpriced for not having a swimmable beach on the premises. That in itself may be enough to turn some guests off. However, these villas are extremely romantic, ultra secluded, and exceptionally serviced. Each villa comes with its own private poll and the staff anticipates everything from extra towels to jetlag (bringing you jetlag calming lotion..that can't possibly work...can it?)
However, it is the legendary privacy in paradise that attracts most. This is the resort where Brad Pitt was famously photographed in the nude while on vacation with then fiancee Gwyneth Paltrow. Ok, so maybe that isn't a ringing endorsement for the whole privacy thing, but have you seen the size of those paparazzi zoom lenses? The photog was probably in a boat 100 feet offshore when those photos were snapped.

Throw in a gourmet restaurant, beach club, and spa, and this place is ready for a fall opening.
The question that remains is can Le Sereno's service match its beauty. Hotels aren't all about skin ya' know?
Stay tuned.
