Paris Hilton Doesn't Let Breakup Interfere With Busy Table-Dancing Schedule

Paris Hilton is going through yet another breakup as yet another one of her "I'm so in love, we'll be together forever" relationships has crashed and burned. The poor fella' this time? Doug Reinhardt. The "table-dancing must go on" post-breakup venue? mur.mur at The Borgata Hotel & Spa in Atlantic City.

Paris hosted a night at the club this past Saturday with some fake "BFFs" and some real ones like fashion designer Richie Rich. Paris even was paid to say shouted out that "mur.mur is the best club in Atlantic City. Borgata is Vegas on the East Coast. So hot I love it!"

Apparently, the party girl stopped at the hotel on her way to Dubai and spent a night in one of The Water Club hotel rooms. Before hitting up mur.mur, she dined at Izakaya with friends. Also in attendance that night at mur.mur was Danny Veltri, recent winner of Hell’s Kitchen, who is getting ready for the opening of Fornelletto Cucina Italiana from Chef Stephen Kalt this summer. In the words of Paris herself, "Yeah, that's hot."

More Paris party pics after the jump.

Shootout At The Trump Taj Mahal

Ugh. An employee of the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City was killed yesterday after sustaining gunshot wounds during what appears to have been an attempted robbery at the Casino. The victim, a shift manager who had been working for the hotel since the first day it opened (almost 20 years) died after a frequent patron of the casino shot him in his office.

Eerily, nobody on the casino floor really noticed all the ruckus going on. According to CBS news:

The shooting and its aftermath were not visible from the casino floor, and the gambling hall remained fully open until management shut its table games down Wednesday evening and sent home workers assigned there. Slot machines remained open.

Yeah. Gotta keep those slots open, no matter what, apparently.

This is the latest in a string of unfortunate incidents at the hotel: in January, there was an 11-hour standoff with a man waving a gun around and, in February, the hotel filed for Chapter 11.

Order Off the Spa 'Prix-Fixe Menu' This Week in Atlantic City

You know a restaurant is goin' for a fancypants vibe when there's a prix-fixe menu involved (or they're just luring the too-tired-for-math Sunday brunch crowd in with the promise of easy billing) — we assume the same is true of a prix-fixe spa menu.

This week (May 17th through 22nd) in Atlantic City, The Borgata's Spa Toccare and The Water Club's Immersion Spa are launching the first-ever "Spa Toccare & Immersion Week," which is kinda like spa week in major cities — i.e., there are major discounts happening.

Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef, The Chopping Block — how do we keep all these cooking reality shows straight? Oh, here's how: one of these shows has ol' Gordon Ramsay screaming in contestants' faces and calling them donkeys and stuff. And that show (Hell's Kitchen, in case we've lost you) had its season five finale last night — complete with a viewing party at the Borgata Hotel and Casino to appropriately celebrate the grand prize.

And what was this grand prize, you wonder? Well (spoiler for the Tivo-ers) winner Danny Veltri scored himself a chef's job at Atlantic City's Borgata inside the brand new resto Fornelletto Cucina Italiano under exec celeb chef Stephen Kalt, who also runs the kitchen at Corsa Cucina at Wynn Las Vegas.

'Overwhelming Hospitality' at the W Hoboken

By the end of this month, the W Hoboken will have been open for two months already; quite a feat considering how many delays we've fretted over and how many times we've personally staked the place out. With all components of the property functioning properly as far as we know, it's time to take a look at what real guests are saying about the place, and if the commute into Manhattan is really all that bad for tourists.

Of course we're turning to TripAdvisor for the first-hand lowdown, since other sites (even Yelp) so far have nothing on the two reviews we found here.

Jersey Shore's First Boutique Hotel Sells Out Opening Weekend

In this doom and gloom economy, we're happy to hear one good piece of news: Bungalow Hotel within the oceanfront Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ opened this weekend and was completely sold out. But, then again, it only has 24 rooms (which makes it a true boutique hotel where you can expect personalized service and attention).

Each room at the Bungalow has a flat-screen TV, a wet bar with a small refrigerator and floor to ceiling windows offering (at times too much) light into the room. Each room is decorated differently, but all have a beachy "surf hotel" theme with the pictures, furniture and decorations complementing the vibe.

Inside the W Hoboken's Grand Opening Bash

As we mentioned this morning, we hit up last night's grand opening bash of the W Hoboken, the newest property (and, fun fact, the smallest-city location) from hip Starwood chain W Hotels. And, like, yeah: it was Hoboken. What we want to know is this: how the F (or how the W, teehee) did they get so many people to come? The place was absolutely packed.

Oh yeah, it was a big night for Jerz: music was pumping, the gorgeous people were out in droves. DJ Cassidy played all evening long while gorgeous waitstaff strutted their stuff on the floor wielding finger foods like sliders and pork potstickers and cocktails that were, erm, fairly strong (notice the shakey camera work in the video above).

Only at a W Hotel, And Only in New Jersey

Oh, this? Yeah, no big thang. Just a chickie chillin' in a giant W-branded martini glass while it's still daylight outside. No biggie.

We hit up the W Hoboken's grand opening bash last night and saw...well, we saw a lot of things. And here is one of those things, and it is somehow oh-so-W and oh-so...we were going to say "Jersey," but it's actually kind of Vegas, no?

We'll bring you the full party report (and a video!) later today, but we just wanted to give a lil' taste of what went down across the river. And yes, if you're wondering: the place was packed.

'Hell's Kitchen' Descends on The Borgata Atlantic City

Tip: Fast forward to the 5:07 mark for their trip to The Borgata

Anybody watching this fifth season of Hell's Kitchen with angry chef Gordon Ramsay knows all too well about the final grand prize awaiting the winner: a restaurant of their own within the The Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. This most recent episode not only revealed the unfinished, massive space, but also gave viewers of the show a peek at the features of The Borgata and a glimpse inside the hotel's pimpin' private jet.

Aside from the jet and the restaurants, we learn from the hotel's Director of Marketing that The Borgata "launched the culinary revolution in Atlantic City" and was named a "Foodie Hotel" by Forbes.com. Big boasts from the hotel, but then we get a tour of the hotel's other restaurants from Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck to prove that they do have the big-name restaurants.

Perhaps now we'll have to start watching Hell's Kitchen, if only to see at whose place we'll able to eat in a year or so. Fast forward towards the end of the video to check out the gigantic space allotted to the winner. At a point, one of the finalists asks the Director of Marketing "how many square feet is this?" to which the Director replies, "more than you can use, I bet." No fooling; this is a huge new venture for a hotel in a city already struggling in the economy.

It's Good Friday All Right: W Hoboken's Chandelier Room Opens Tonight

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: 225 River Street [map], Hoboken, NJ, United States, 07030
April 10, 2009 at 2:51 PM | by JetSetCD | 0 Comments

In a matter of mere hours, the partying population of Hoboken, New Jersey will finally be able to settle their tipsy tushies into an oversize chandelier while gazing out across the Hudson River at the skyline of Manhattan. Yes, it is true: the Chandelier Room club at the W Hoboken debuts tonight at 5:30pm. No doubt the most coveted chairs in the room will be the drops of the "inhabitable" chandelier, and we can already imagine girls in short skirts sitting on each other's laps in an ongoing battle for them.

If our recent visit to the W's Living Room bar is anything to go by, then the Chandelier Room will be serving some pricey cocktails befitting their scenic location. Cheers to them, however, 'cause if we're thinking straight, the opening of this last piece of the puzzle means that the W Hoboken is complete. It's Good Friday all right, a good Friday for getting drunk.

Harrah's Wants You to Put Your Rockband Skills to Good Use

April 8, 2009 at 9:16 AM | by Jenna | 0 Comments

April Fools Day is long over, so this does not appear to be a joke — and it actually seems really cool, though don't tell any of our gentleman-friends (or videogame-addicted girlfriends) we said so.

Harrah's has launched a nationwide Rockband competition. And before you run to re-string your guitar and dust off your drumset, this is not like a battle of the bands: this is a Rockband competition. Like, the video game. You get a 4-person team together, pick a song from a list of eligible songs and "compete" at the local level at one of 18 Harrah's locations around the country. From there, you're either told to get lost or you move up to the regional competition — of which there are four — and then to the finals in Atlantic City on May 8th.
