We are introducing a new category of hotels--Paula Abdul Hotels. These are not hotels where Paula Abdul has stayed but rather old luxury hotels still coasting by on favorable press from the 1980s and early 1990s.
They are old-looking from the inside and out. A few of them may have had some minor up-keeping done but not necessarily for the better.
They charge expensive prices for outdated decor, old-timey amenities like in-room fax machines and chunky black TVs and for poor service. Yet somehow still get prime-time mention in travel mags and destination guides under the luxury hotels umbrella.
This has to stop.
