This has been quite the year for hotels, and most notably in New York where not one, but two former SRO residences are entering second lives as hip hotspots. The recent months may have been dominated by the transformation of The Jane from the old Hotel Riverview, but now the playing field widens as the Seattle-based Ace Hotel preps to pounce onto New York's scene with a renovation of Midtown's Breslin Hotel. ]]>
If you had any doubts, Ace Hotels is definitely still on for its New York location. A rep just emailed us some snapshots that were taken at the College Music Journal '08 Music Marathon & Film Festival in NYC and included some hotel opening info as well.
The Ace Hotel Portland sponsored the Ace Photo Booth at the PDX@CMJ event which featured nearly 30 Portland bands. Aside from giving party-goers the opportunity take crazy photos of themselves, the booth also promoted the forthcoming NYC hotel and the Palm Springs hotel.
Ace NYC is on for Feb. 1st and Palm Springs will open in mid-January. We can't wait. ]]>
