Can't we all agree that suing each other over the gimmicky use of two consonants is a little...excessive? Or should we say "XS-ive"? According to local Las Vegas news station <a href="http://www.kvbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=10729619">KVBC</a>, Wynn Resorts filed a lawsuit on Monday in U.S. District Court against <A href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/tag/nylo hotels">NYLO Hotels</a>. The dispute? Who has the rights to "XS." Yes, really. Reportedly, NYLO had "asserted rights" to the trademark "XS" perhaps a marketing tie-in for their yet-to-happen XP brand? and had "offered to let Wynn pay a licensing fee to use the name for the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2009/3/3/15923/38761/hotels/A_Night_of_XS_At_Encore_Las_Vegas">club at Encore.</a>" How generous of them! We assume it was mostly supposed to focus on exactly how Wynn "The Man With the Midas Touch has kept his company afloat and has even managed to open up a new property (<A href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Encore+Las+Vegas/local/1397">Encore Las Vegas</a>, if you're just tuning in) during these tough economic times, but it was mostly a Steve-Wynn-is-awesome piece. Some sad news today: Steve Wynn and Elaine Wynn are officially getting a divorce. Recall that we'd heard some rumors that the emperor and his wife were in the middle of a very quiet split a couple months ago — a PYT was allegedly involved — but the couple was still on good terms.

For those who haven't followed our somewhat gush-y coverage of the almost-former Emperor's Wife: Elaine has been more than Steve's spouse; she's also been fairly involved in the company, overseeing the retail shops at Wynn hotels and acting as a director on the company's board.

"I went to the Wynn and all I got was this stupid T-shirt." Without a doubt, this is being heard more often around Vegas as merrymakers head to the city of spending without as much cash. On our last excursion, we opted for a case of mints shaped like the hotel rather than an overpriced T-shirt.

So how will the glut of luxury shops at the Wynns in Las Vegas and Macau get through the bad economy? We're going to guess group therapy.
