Movie buffs are getting ready to hit up the 12-day Tribeca Film Festival from April 20 to May 1. If you plan on visiting New York City to join other movie-goers at the fest, book your hotel now—last year, the event drew 410,000 cinephiles, filmmakers and actors.

Now we're less than a week away from kick off, details of the panels and parties for the Tribeca Film Festival are starting to come together. As you'd expect, most of the action is happening downtown. (We often see crowds of bearded, cool-hatted filmmaker types smoking outside the Tribeca Grand this time of year, and if you want to festival-gawk, we suggest this be your first stop.)

It's almost that time of year again—when De Niro's "little" film festival hits downtown New York, and locals complain about how they couldn't get tickets. Again. But enough about the actual movies, what about the hotels? Which ones will be the hotspots of the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival?
Oh sure, there's the old standbys, the Tribeca and SoHo Grands, De Niro's own Greenwich Hotel, and Thompson's Smyth Tribeca—which is one of the festival's official travel partners.
