New York: Snapshot :: The Cooper Square Hotel Gets Curtains

Thanks to Jebb who put this snapshot in the HotelChatter Flickr Pool, we now see that the Cooper Square Hotel has curtains. And they aren't fugly rainbows like the Standard NYC! The Cooper Square Hotel is still set to open sometime this fall.

New York: Sapphire Strip Club Hotel Will Have Beautiful View of Jersey...And of a Playground

Oh, snap. Remember that 15-story hotel above the Sapphire Strip Club planned for Chelsea?

To refresh your memory, a Sapphire associate envisioned a hotel to be erected (heh) above the soon-to-open new Manhattan strip club that was "like Ian Schrager-style, with a beautiful view of Jersey."

But hey, guess what? Curbed found out today that the property has views of all the children playing in the Chelsea Waterside Park.

Kickass job with the zoning, NYC. Really. Way to go.

Crappy conditions for extras on a TV show <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/7/25/141347/843/hotels/More_Burnin_at_Gansevoort_South">shoot</a>. <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/7/14/125857/522/hotels/Even_More_Drama_for_Gansevoort_South">Criminals </a>workin' the sushi bar. And oh, yes: a <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/4/17/233633/416/hotels/Fire_Breaks_Out_on_Gansevoort_South_Rooftop">fire</a>. But just as we were about to write it off, reader F. dropped a couple of photos of his experience on the Gansevoort South rooftop into the HotelChatter Facebook Page's fan photo album. And the view looks... cranelicious. Granted, the photo was taken in June, so we're not totally sure that all those cranes are still there -- so we've included another one of F's Gansevoort rooftop pics after the jump (from a different part of the roof). Las Vegas: Snapshot :: Echelon's Construction Ghost Town

That means construction that has already started on the site has been stopped indefinitely. Here's what it looks like now. While new projects have been delayed or crapped out completely in Las Vegas, we aren't noticing much of a downtown in Sin City just yet. According to the <a href="http://lvcva.com/press/statistics-facts/index.jsp">Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority</a>, visitor numbers and occupancy rates are down just a touch. But it's not hugely noticeable.
