Yes, this fine property is 10 years old and to celebrate, the hotel threw a fun poolside bash in its new Escape Lounge (which is essentially a new name for the pool area and its cabanas.)
As guests flitted about drinking, socializing and tasting (there was a cabana devoted to serving Asian chicken salad), a bubble machine was spewing bubbles around the pool area. It was cute and fun and apparently, addictive as we heard one not-so-young man say, "I have this problem, I am addicted to bubbles!" and then he promptly went off to pop some

Which would explain why there were some folks decked to the nines in cocktail chic attire (Vegas locals and media) and others who roamed around a little bewildered in jeans, t-shirts and boots (hotel guests.)
Needless to say the Vegas glitterati was in full force,

Eager guests — presumably Wynn loyalists who were psyched to see what Steve Wynn had up his sleeve for the followup to his hugely successful (and perennial HC fave) Wynn Las Vegas — lined up and braved the chilly weather in Vegas to be the first through Encore's doors.
From our tipster:

Guests waited hours on line to get in. Forget about the line into the main entrance, the line within Wynn wrapped completely around the Wynn casino, through the Wynn shopping esplanade and out the side door.
