While the thought of sprawling out under an umbrella and sipping a margarita is all you need to entice you to head to Mexico on vacation, it’s not exactly the type of stuff that’ll get the kids excited. Wait just a second there, Harry Potter. Before you go hogwarting all the headlines, you should know that there is other kid-travel news in the pipeline, too. SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora The Explorer and other Nickelodeon icons are getting in on the hotel act with Marriott, as part of the brand's new Nickelodeon Your Stay promotion.

From July 1st all the way through December 26, hotels under the Marriott umbrella are giving kids who check-in access to Nickelodeon exclusives such as an online SpongeBob SquarePants game and activity books and placemats. We're guessing that partnership with Nickelodeon to build 20 Nick Resorts didn't quite work out.
