The discussion was called "The Future of Lifestyle and Business," and we were totally psyched to geek out and gawk at the J-Man and I-Nasty. And, more importantly, we were ready and waiting to hear about what's up next for the industry from two of the most prominent and influential hoteliers in the biz. Instead, we mostly listened to Schrager discuss his life, his past and his personal future in business. Alright, so it was a little bit different than what we'd expected -- but still pretty fascinating.

We continue our obsession with Hotel Toiletries to bring forth some of the products used in the more popular boutique hotel chains. These products are always a little bit more upscale than the toiletries you might find at a big brand hotel chain and that makes visiting these hip hotels all the more exciting. (We can't help it, we're such hotel geeks.)

Not only do we always stay abreast of where Gossip Girl is filming, but we get to see where our favorite (or least favorite, as the case may be) celebs are spotted -- and, many a time, stalky Gawker readers catch the celebs going in and out of hotels and we are able to deduce their fave places to spend the night while they're in the big city.

New York: Ian Schrager Reflects On His First Child Now That It's All Grown Up

In yesterday's New York Observer, Ian Schrager took a little bit of time to sit down and chitty-chat about Morgans New York, his very first hotel that "broke the rules" way back in 1984 -- the boutique property set him on a straight path to becoming the trailblazing hotelier he eventually would be.

Today, Morgan's -- which Ian refers to fondly as being "almost like a first child" -- is unveiling a $10 million revamp of the hotel's original look with a swanky party in the hotel's penthouse. The soiree is hosted by original French designer Andr�e Putman.
