To celebrate the tradition of women being "allowed" to propose on February 29th (as it is not recognized by the British legal calendar), London's May Fair Hotel is offering a "Leap Year Proposal Package" encouraging young ladies to take the romantic reins this year.
This is very similar to the proposal package that Kimpton Hotels is offering stateside, only a tad bit pricier and well, that one doesn't come with the services of a Proposal Butler. Yes, we said Proposal Butler.

Apparently it's a tradition for women to make marriage proposals in leap years--so commitment-adverse partners take note of February 29 in 2008, especially if your loved one suggests getting away that weekend to Denver's Hotel Monaco.
The Kimpton-owned property is offering a "Dare to Propose" package, which for $259, includes valet parking, gourmet aphrodisiacs, special Leap Day cocktails and micro-brewed beer.
It was not disclosed whether the abundance of alcohol here is meant to give women the courage to pop the question or to get one's companion drunk enough to say (or slur) yes.
