Los Angeles: Tasting 'Sushi Pizza' at JW Marriott's L.A. Market Restaurant

So far, we’ve brought you coverage of the entire construction and opening process of the new J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live, and last week, we decided to head into the hotel’s main restaurant, L.A. Market, for dinner to see what it's all about. The restaurant is the latest kitchen run by celebrity chef, Kerry Simon.

We tried a variety of dishes including the wok-charred edamame with house-made ginger sea salt ($9), the bricked chicken with farro and braised beet greens ($24), and the ricotta-herb ravioli with wild mushrooms ($21).

<![CDATA[<img src="http://www.hotelchatter.com/files/admin/conchords.jpg" class="imgborder">We happened to be celebrating a friend's birthday inside Stone Rose at the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Sofitel+Los+Angeles/local/46">Sofitel Los Angeles</a> on Saturday night which was the exact same night that HBO was holding their pre-Emmy dinner party at the SimonLA restaurant.So as we guzzled down our seabreezes we got to watch castmembers of The Sopranos walking in and out. We saw Bobby Bacala, Johnny Sack and AJ with a much-taller and much drunker girl hanging off his arms. A special thanks to Paulie Walnuts who took the time to stop when he noticed us waving at him wildly. He blew us air kisses and the peace sign when we said that we were from NJ and that we loved him.
