In perusing this month's Vanity Fair, we came across a "My Stuff" piece from one of our favorite hotel designers, Kelly Wearstler, the vision behind Viceroy Hotels and Tides Hotels.

It’s not often that we turn to The New Yorker to read about hotels, but thanks to Fashion Week, the September 14 issue of the high-brow magazine is the Style Issue—and it features Kor Group’s glamorous designer Kelly Wearstler. Having recently stayed at one of Wearstler’s signature designy-design hotels, the Viceroy Miami, we were eager to find out more about the “presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design.”

There's a ton of new things happening with Kor Hotels this week.
First, an Abu Dhabi company bought a 50 percent stake in the company allowing Kor to expand their presence overseas opening hotels in Middle East, North Africa and Asia.
And back in the states, The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills is getting a new look from its designer Kelly Wearstler to be completed sometime in early 2009. We initially heard this was happening from a dedicated HotelChatter reader but now we have an official statement from the designer herself after the jump.]]>
