When the W Taipei opened last month, we were relieved to see the guestrooms looked far better than the W London. And now we're heaving another sigh of relief over the hotel's pool scene.

HotelChatter Flickr member Ken Lee dropped in this shot of the rooftop pool and it looks just like what we'd expect from a W hotel. Lately, W Hotels has seem to lost some of their design libido, perhaps a side effect of over-expansion into some questionable markets. But also a bonus was this review from Flickr member <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/spencerslife/4429539072/in/pool-hotelchatter">Spencer D Allen</a> who writes: <blockquote><p>Very artsy hotel, very unique. There are 2 towers, one with very modern (almost W hotel style) decor, the other side with a much more sophistocated [sic]and almost old world luxury. this room is from the old world tower. <p> The location is very unique, right near the red light district.... it's not for kids. Yes, the brand's been trying to upgrade its look (how about all that pink at <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2009/5/18/155830/505/hotels/Le_Meridien_Dallas_North_s_Lobby_is_a_Bit_Pink_Whatchya_Think_">Le Meridien Dallas</a>?) but rooms like this still take us by surprise. <p>Even better, this photos looks so close to what you see in the room photo on the hotel's <a href="http://www.starwoodhotels.com/lemeridien/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1860&EM=VTY_MD_munich_1860_overview">website.</a> We approve!
