The Fontainebleau Miami--possible TV set?

Here we go again--someone is attempting another tv show about hotels. But this one may fare slightly better than the rest.

Cable network Starz has just announced their pick-up of "Magic City" , a period drama set in the 1960s that follows the comings and goings of mobsters, entertainers and politicians at a posh Miami Beach Hotel. Ooo kinda like if Mad Men met Boardwalk Empire!!

Deadline Hollywood reports:

The subject matter is a tightrope in dealing with the mob, his own complicated family, racial tensions and a city that is about to blow up as a destination for decadence.

Sitcom Fail.

Well, color us surprised. Do Not Disturb -- the hotel sitcom starring Jerry O'Connell that we loved to hate and then hated ourselves for kinda-loving -- has reportedly gotten the axe after only three episodes.

We'll be honest: you may have noticed our weekly episode review was missing this time around. Well, for some reason, our Tivo did not record Do Not Disturb this week. And we were hoping to catch the latest episode (#3) online yesterday, but it (curiously) was never posted on Fox.com and we were, frankly, a little bit bummed cause we kinda enjoyed it last week.
