But this one may fare slightly better than the rest.
Cable network Starz has just announced their pick-up of "Magic City" , a period drama set in the 1960s that follows the comings and goings of mobsters, entertainers and politicians at a posh Miami Beach Hotel. Ooo kinda like if Mad Men met Boardwalk Empire!!
Deadline Hollywood reports:

The subject matter is a tightrope in dealing with the mob, his own complicated family, racial tensions and a city that is about to blow up as a destination for decadence.

This week, we found out that he does seem to oversee the marketing for the hotel.
New York: Who Owns Hotel Chandler? Not Simon van Kempen

Knowing a thing or two about, um, the vast differences between owning and operating a hotel, we raised an eyebrow...and then we went digging.
Turns out: yeah, no. Simon does not, as we suspected, own the Hotel Chandler. He is the General Manager (and has been for quite some time), but the hotel belongs to a company called Triumph

Well, for some reason, our Tivo did not record Do Not Disturb this week. And we were hoping to catch the latest episode (#3) online yesterday, but it (curiously) was never posted on Fox.com and we were, frankly, a little bit bummed cause we kinda enjoyed it last week.
But silly, silly us: the Tivo apparently knew something we didn't.
