Rooftop spaces at Z Ocean Hotel and Z Hotel New York

We didn't really notice that the names of the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach and Long Island City, New York's Z Hotel were so similar. Or, at least, it didn't bother us. But it sure did get up Z Ocean's nose.

The developers of the South Beach hotel filed a lawsuit against the owners of Z Hotel, accusing them of trademark infringement and seeking damages. But, as The Real Deal reports, the suit wound up being settled--with both hotels agreeing to keep their names but Z NYC forced to redesign its logo.

It's time to Guess The Hotel!

We visited a hotel recently for an event that required the use of a suite. If we name the event—or, for that matter, the suite—it could give the whole thing away. But we do have a video that shows what happens when you get to the top of these stairs. At which point, you'll get a few more visual clues. But before that, here are some other tidbits:

· Anyone looking for a caffeine fix should stop by the lobby of this hotel.

· 1920s-themed design is a trademark here.

BROOKLYN: A Rooftop Restaurant Will Open At Hotel Le Bleu...For The Third Time

But it turned out the giant "for rent" sign that had been draped unceremoniously over the building and the roadside signage was only a reference to the hotel's rooftop dining space. And now it seems to have attracted a new tenant. <a href="http://www.brownstoner.com/blog/2011/12/new-restaurant-in-at-hotel-le-bleu/">Brownstoner</a> is reporting that the banners have come down, and that a new establishment, called, of all things, "The Rooftop," will be opening there in early 2012. New York: More Celebs Make Out In a Hotel, This Time At The Dream Downtown

If we had to make a list of places to go and make out with Sean "P Diddy" Combs, the Dream Downtown would probably make the cut. Apparently, Cameron Diaz had the exact same idea.

On Saturday, the 39-year-old actress had dinner with friends at Marble Lane, the hotel's lobby restaurant, and then headed up to the rooftop bar, PH-D, where, according to Page Six, she and Diddy started getting "affectionate" in a VIP booth around 1am. Up until now, their reps have claimed their relationship was strictly professional, as they are supposedly "collaborating" on a new movie project. Yeah, sure. And the only drinks they ordered were ginger ale and cranberry juice...

<![CDATA[<img src="http://www.hotelchatter.com/files/61268/WillWill2.jpg" class="top">It's the beginning of the end: Williamsburg's first boutique hotel flung open its doors earlier last month on a quiet, park-facing street near the waterfront. Though we initially had assumed Brooklyn would allow for significantly more square footage than, say, an equivalent hotel in Manhattan, we might have been proved wrong. But all is not lost: the hotel's prime location has already begun attracting tourists and film crews alike (The Good Wife, a Vogue fashion shoot, and an unnamed MTV pilot, have all shot here). And if it weren't for the taco truck (it will eventually be installed next to the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2011/11/11/10354/277/hotels/Williamsburg_Gets_A_Pool_And_It_s_Very_Very_Pretty">pool</a> and bi-level art gallery (opening date still TBD), we wouldn't be nearly so excited about
