This has been quite the year for hotels, and most notably in New York where not one, but two former SRO residences are entering second lives as hip hotspots. The recent months may have been dominated by the transformation of The Jane from the old Hotel Riverview, but now the playing field widens as the Seattle-based Ace Hotel preps to pounce onto New York's scene with a renovation of Midtown's Breslin Hotel. ]]>

The website for the hotel says Spring 2008. Another nebulous opening date from Thompson. We're guessing sometime in May.
