Few things get us out of bed early on the weekend. Save for a delicious brunch outing, or perhaps an early morning flight, we generally like to lounge around in our sweats and slowly wake up. Which is exactly what we got to do after a heavy night of partying down at The Water Club At The Borgata.

Rising at 6am on Sunday morning, we hopped up to the hotel's rooftop pool, and—minus the old guy doing laps by himself—had the entire 80 foot pool and side jacuzzi to ourselves for a solid two hours.

On the one hand, you have indie artists like Emily Wells and Atlas Sound coming to play lobby shows at the Ace; or the all-night ragers happening over at The Standard's Le Bain every Tuesday—one of the hottest weeknight parties in town.

Still other places go for a more traditional lounge-y vibe, part of which we covered in our list of un-missable lounge acts. But for the jazz enthusiasts out there, here is a list for you. New York: Say Sayonara To The Oak Room

As promised, the Oak Room finally shut down for good last night. But that didn't stop patrons from squeezing into the Plaza Hotel's iconic bar for one last hurrah. Champagne flowed at a standing room-only bar, and the regularly-scheduled Wednesday night jazz band kept its slot one last time.

"Last call is usually around midnight. But tonight, we think it's going to go a little later," promised the hostess. "Basically, until people stop buying drinks." Sure enough, the room was so crowded, and the atmosphere so jolly, it was difficult to remember why exactly the hotel had chosen to pull the plug in the first place.

Morgans Hotels Launch A New Web Series, Spanky's Night Out

In case you haven't noticed, Morgans Hotel Group have been busy giving cool kids what they want: from Tumblr to custom playlists and a team of sexy cocktail gurus at the Royalton. Now they're adding a web series to that list.

The Spanky's Night Out webisode series stars "nightlife enthusiast" Spanky Van Dyke and will follow him behind the scenes at some of Morgans' hottest hotels. The first video, which is live now on YouTube is an introduction to the Cocktail Collective team at the Royalton, and includes a mini-bar cocktail challenge in one of the hotel rooms, and Spanky sitting in a hot tub with bartender Misty Kalkofen.
