But in the case of designer <a href="http://blog.stephaniejohnson.com/">Stephanie Johnson</a>, what we get is a new range of travel accessories. And the hotel that took Johnson's fancy? <a href='http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel/local/4143'>The Fairmont Mayakoba</a>, on Mexico's Riviera Maya. We haven't stayed at this property but we've stayed at <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Rosewood+Mayakoba/local/902">one next door</a> that's on the same Mayakoba development of lush jungle rolling down to the ocean. Can't say we blame Johnson for getting inspired--it is indeed very pretty! So is the new line of bags, which includes an iPad case and a few small cosmetics bags that double as cute clutches for a night out

We're with you all the way. There's some relief however, as The Plaza has just opened a Betsey Johnson holiday pop-up shop in the lower-level Shops arcade at the hotel. We just went and roamed around it ourselves, and though it's itsy-bitsy, it definitely packs the pinkest punch. The store associates told us that Betsey wanted the shop chock-full of accessories, and that it is; her sparkly jewelry, funky watches, quilted clutches and even winter hats are everywhere. When it rains, it pours and right now in Turks & Caicos hotel land, it's raining bikinis. Designer bikinis inspired by luxury resorts, that is.

Yesterday, we told you about Heidi Klein's Parrot Cay-inspired collection--but there's a real resortwear star hot on her heels, too. Trina Turk's collaboration with another TCI property, Grace Bay Club, hits stores on December 15. It's called--of course--the Trina Turks & Caicos collection and is the first designer collabo for the resort.

We're still talking about our trip to Parrot Cay and that was over a year ago. So, we totally understand how the beach-posh beauty of the resort inspires people to move there (what's up, Bruce Willis? You, too, Donna Karan?)--and now, design a resort-wear collection inspired by the place.

Surprisingly, the designer in question is not Karan--although she does sell the divine COMO Shambala beauty products in her Urban Zen boutique in NYC. The new Parrot Cay pieces are from Heidi Klein, a Brit known for creating swimwear that 'exudes a barefoot chic confidence'.

Who's the new Global Fashion Director at W Hotels, you ask? Why, you're looking right at her! Jenn� Lombardo was tapped as the company's newest fashion leader, after ex-GFD Amanda Ross passed on the torch last month.

Though Lombardo has been hard at work assembling the newest group of local designers for W's fashion collection—now in its fifth season—she found some time to chat with us yesterday at the W New York's launch party. Read on below for her thoughts on the new collection, picking the designers, and what makes a good hotel. Hint: it has nothing to do with clothes.
