Los Angeles: The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel Gets Jazzed About Brunch

As a way of hearkening back to that golden-hued heyday, the hotel has started offering a new ”Jazz Brunch” on Sundays from 11:00am-3:00pm.
Since the special brunch starts at $18 per person, it’s actually a pretty good deal, especially for a Thompson Hotel, and especially considering that overnight parking will run you around $30, and the standard rate for a stay at the hotel starts at $225 a night.
If you’re anything like us, you’re naturally dubious about any meal that is accompanied by live music.
Santa Rosa: Skip The Continental Breakfast and Order the Good Stuff at The Vintners Inn

But since we're always asking what you did over the weekend, we thought we'd fill you in on what we did this weekend.
We headed up to Santa Rosa in Sonoma County for a family wedding and shacked up at the so-so Flamingo Resort which is essentially an old 60s motel that has been renovated for the 21st century. Room rates were $109 a night and the sheets were extraordinarily crisp and clean. Other than that, we have really nothing to rave or rant about.

It's pretty easy, especially on a Friday – just include some kind of chocolate in the deal. That's exactly what the fine Le Meurice in Paris has done, by letting us know about the Choc'Alléno special breakfast they've got going at the moment.
Put together by the hotel restaurant's head chef Yannick Alléno, the breakfast special includes original Choc'Alléno pain au chocolat and croissants, as well as a chocolate baguette, chocolate chip butter, jam and honey, fruit juice and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. It already sounds good, but listen to how those special pastries get made:

It's all part of Westin's SuperFoodsRx breakfast menu and while we are always a bit wary of stuff that's too healthy, in case that means it's not tasty, the SuperFoods menu doesn't look too bad at all.
Westin has picked ten foods that various experts put in the superfoods category- blueberries, tomatoes, broccoli and salmon to name a few – and created breakfast dishes with these ingredients. They include a blueberry banana smoothie, organic eggs benedict with salmon and an egg white
