The second is of course, the rip.What, is this opposite day here? We're just not used to this sort of news. Apparently, America's dirtiest hotel, as determined by <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com/DirtyHotels-g191">TripAdvisor</a>, <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Grand+Resort+Hotel+And+Conv+Ctr/ian/172683">The Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center</a> in Pigeon <s>Poop</s> Forge, Tenn. has vowed to overhaul the property and has even taken immediate steps to do so. <a href="http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/01/26/national/main7286069.shtml">CBS News</a> reports: <blockquote>CEO and General Manager Nicky Darrell Chaney said he has already fired one manager, hired a new maintenance manager and new head of housekeeping, and is in the process of using a new sanitizer to clean the rooms.</blockquote>

New Orleans: A Greeting From The Wrong Type of Ambassador at the Ambassador Hotel

A dead cockroach. Not exactly what you want to greet you when you walk into a hotel room, but hey, this is New Orleans and these things happen.

Yes, after we checked out of our holiday-romance-gone-wrong at International House, we checked into the Ambassador Hotel on Tchoupitoulas, where we scored what was possibly the last hotel room left in New Orleans on game night for $69.99.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the kind of ambassador we were hoping for (and neither was the hair on the bath behind it). The view wasn’t too exciting either, consisting as it did of 10 inches of air and then a brick wall.

Hotel Carter No Longer 'The Dirtiest Hotel' in America?

TripAdvisor released its annual Traveler's Choice list yesterday and while a whopping 719 hotels were winners of awards and mentions, we're guessing the Heritage Marina Hotel in San Francisco is not too proud to be considered the #1 Dirtiest Hotel in the United States.

Recent reviews called the place "filthy" "disgusting", "cockroach-infested", "horror hotel", "had the ambiance of fresh vomit" and "the most smelly discusting place ever!" [SIC]. This really doesn't come as a surprise to us since way back in 2006, we had an in-depth report of bed bugs at the place. Yuck.
