Pittsburgh: Edie Sedgwick Lives On, As a Dog, at Fairmont Pittsburgh

We already know that Fairmont Hotels loves dogs--and has quite a few Canine Ambassadors. But most of them, apart from the infamous Catie Copley in Boston, live in Canada.
Thankfully, the latest addition to the pack is installed a little closer to home, at the Fairmont Pittsburgh.
This lovely girl is Edie. Just as the bar at Fairmont Pittsburgh is named after the city's favorite son, Andy Warhol, the newest staff member is named after Warhol's muse, Edie Sedgwick. Instead of appearing in incomprehensible art films, though, this Edie is on hand to welcome guests to the hotel, and walk them to their rooms if they so choose.

And they are some cuties.
Both hotels got new directors of pet relations. Luna, an American Cocker Spaniel who sports a pink collar, works for Hotel Palomar. She's been welcoming animal and human guests and promoting the hotel's occasional Yappy Hours, pet-friendly happy hours. The doggie also lets visitors know that each pet gets a bed, bowl, treats and toys when checking in.

New York: A 1,500-Pound Dog Checks Into the New York Palace

Hmm, we wonder what the pet fee would be for a pooch like this one, which weighs 1,500 pounds? Clearly, The New York Palace doesn't have a pet weight limit, because this guy recently moved into the hotel's Palace Gate courtyard.
His name? Doggy John. And he's one seriously expensive pup, valued at $500,000. Yes, it's because he's a work of art--an 8-foot sculpture that took French Artist Julien Marinetti seven weeks to create.
Doggy John will be display at Palace Gate through the fall, making for some fun photo ops if you feel posh enough to dine at the restaurant.
