After all, don't all guests want their every desire fulfilled whenever they check into a hotel? And look no further than the recent introductions of specialized services in hotels like pillow menus, bath butlers, shopping concierges and even iPhone applications to understand that today's hotel guest is becoming increasingly needy.
But in speaking with Raul Leal, the president of Desires Hotels, we learned that his hotels have a few subtle ways to make sure that your need are taken care of when staying overnight.
For starters, the concierges at Desires Hotels

San Juan: The San Juan Marriott's You Tube Concierge Makes Virtual Bragging Easy

Every time we go away, we feel pangs of guilt if we don’t bring back souvenirs for our nearest and dearest; especially, our beloved dog-sitter. As a carry-on only kinda gal, it can get burdensome, and many times we cop out with a 25¢ cookie cutter postcard with an impersonal message.
Well, the <a href=”http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/San+Juan+Marriott+Resort+and+Stellaris+Casino/local/1133 ”>San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino just launched a very cool (and complimentary) service that lets guests send a virtual shout out to the folks at home, and avoid the whole issue of having to schlep a bunch of useless tsotchkes. Plus think of all the money you’ll save on ever-increasing postage prices if you’re a postcard kinda person.

New York: Overheard in the Lobby: Can The Concierge Get Broadway Tickets?

A couple approaches the concierge of Night Hotel looking for Broadway tickets for the following night. The conversation went something like this:
Couple Guy: We want to see Billy Elliott tomorrow night.
Concierge: That show is sold out. I can get you tickets, but they will be over $200 a piece, maybe $250
Couple Guy: $250? That is way too much money. Why are they so much?
Concierge: Like I said, it is sold out -- every night. However, we go through ticket brokers and can get you seats, but it will cost more.
Couple Guy: Ok fine, what about if we go see Chicago?
Concierge: That would be

A rep has assured us they are not phasing out their concierge service and all guests staying at a Four Seasons hotel will have a qualified concierge at their beck and call. But we're still getting reports of some personnel shifts behind the concierge desk. A tipster writes in:

As a person from the Concierge community in the Bay Area... Here's what I know. The FS laid off it's Chef Concierge (member of Les Clefs d'Or) worked for them for over 20 years. They merged the remaining Concierge to the Front Desk as Front Desk Agents. They either took a $3 an hour
