Threadbare towels, a previously owned bar of soap and a grumpy person who says: We dont do breakfast before 8am and we dont do it after 8.12am, are all things you could come across should you be unfortunate enough to stay in the UK, according to <a href="http://www.visitbritain.co.uk">VisitBritain</a>

We love a good insider list of great hotels but in the UK the Telegraph has gone totally overboard with its recent "cosy hotel" list--how can we ever try out 50 different hotels?

But curiosity got the better of us because we want to know what a "cosy" hotel actually is. Apparently they mean a place with a nice fireplace and "buttered crumpets for tea", usually out in the countryside. Okay, that's cozy.
