Either the hotel was well-booked this weekend or just as many New Yorkers have been salivating over this opening as much as we have, because the Breslin was jumpin. The Breslin, the long-awaited restaurant inside the <a href=http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Ace+Hotel+New+York/local/1313>Ace Hotel New York</a>, finally opens this week. It was meant to be Tuesday, and then today, but an Ace clerk told us this morning that the opening was postponed until tomorrow. Theyre just serving breakfast and lunch for the time being, but with all the hype surrounding the place, this should keep our traps shut and bellies full for a couple more weeks when they start doing dinner. We know, we know, we shouldn’t get our hopes up when hotels give us opening dates, or even ETAs, for their exciting new restaurants and bars (not to mention the hotels themselves). But we can’t help it. Not only are there a slew of hot new hotels opening up in New York in the coming months, but lots of new hotel restaurants as well. One we hoped we’d be sitting at chowing down in by now—The Breslin at The Ace Hotel—was sorta maybe going to open on October 8. But that was last Thursday, friends, and we still don’t see no food in that funky looking pub.
