It's certainly not for novices or the faint of heart—and in the case of a package being offered by The Four Seasons Jackson Hole, the faint of wallet, either.
"Recommended for strong intermediate through expert skiers," the Four Seasons is holding a three-day, four-night How to Heli-Camp from February 3-7, 2010 wherein participants will be educated on safety standards and essential Heli-Skiing techniques. We’re hardly outdoor adventurers (hello, room service), but every so often a lodge makes us want to reconnect with our deeply repressed explorers within. Especially when a hotel makes the great outdoors sound oh-so luxurious.
Three Forks Ranch has done just that, recently unveiling “the world’s only five-billion star” (their words, not ours) concierge alpine skiing program to coincide with its inaugural winter season. The lodge is actually a working cattle ranch (!) in Savery, Wyoming, perched along the Colorado border. And starting Dec. 15, guests will be guided through nearby Steamboat Springs's best trails by a personal skiing guide. ]]>
