Ever since the first property <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/1/8/115746/8097/hotels/HotelChatter_Goes_Inside_NYLO_Plano">opened up</a> in <b><a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Nylo+Hotel+Plano/local/977">Plano, Texas</a></b> at the end of 2007, we watched an equally well-received property open out in <b><A href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/NYLO+Hotel+Warwick/local/1286">Warwick, Rhode Island</a></b>, then the company announced <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/1/30/11833/7899/hotels/NYLO_Hotels_Announce_Spin_Off_Brand_XP_Hotels">a spinoff brand</a> called <b><A href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/tag/XP%20Hotels">XP</a></b> &#151; and then went kinda quiet. <p>But this week, the Atlanta-based chain made some big announcements at the ALIS conference in (American Lodging Investment Summit) in San Diego that they've got plans for three more properties in Dallas, Chicago and New York, not to mention another half-finished property coming up in Dallas. <p>Oh, and to remind you: the NYLO name comes from "NY Lofts." This almost never happens. A hotel opening ahead of schedule. Unless it's an Aloft Hotel. And guess what? It is.<p>The <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Aloft+Plano/ian/271688"><b>Aloft Plano</b></a> is now open. The hotel officially opened its doors yesterday and room rates are going for $249 tonight. Next Monday, the rate drops down to $179 a night. Still, that seems kinda pricey to us. Wasn't this supposed to be a budget-y brand?<p> Yet, there's not much else to report since it's an Aloft and we all know what is inside <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/tag/aloft%20hotels">those hotels</a>. The grand opening will follow on September 18th.<p>The Warwick property will be a little different in terms of vibe than its Texan sister.<blockquote><p>With New England¹s rivers and bays as its muse, this NYLO has a witty vibe that celebrates its locale. The bar takes design inspiration from fish gills. In the restaurant, chandeliers recall dry sea coral, and tables have Plexiglas tops with embedded sea sponges.</blockquote></p><p>In fact, NYLO is even calling this place Soho-by-the-Sea. Kinda cute. We were among the first to bring you a review of the flagship NYLO brand property in Plano, Texas this winter, and now that the hotel has been up and running for almost 6 months, we checked in with our friends at TripAdvisor to see how the property's been doing.

And things are lookin' pretty good! Aside from the same sorts of structural headscratchers we mentioned a few months ago--bathroom doors that leave little to the imagination, for instance-- recent guests have tons of good things to say.
