New York: Anna, Martha and J.Lo Have Eaten at Le Caprice in The Pierre. Have You?

The official opening of Le Caprice in the Pierre Hotel was on Monday, but well before then a string of celebrities had already graced the deco-styled restaurant. As an outpost of the London Le Caprice, in the same stable as fellow London hotspots The Ivy and Annabel’s, the celeb contingent makes sense. Stars love nothing more than being first to try something, even if it does involve putting deliciously rich food in their mouths.

Anna Wintour threw a Vogue book party there, while J.Lo, Marc Anthony and Naomi Campbell dined with shoe god Christian Louboutin at the opening celebration. So far only renderings have been available of the black-and-white dining room, lined with David Bailey photographs—however

New York: New York Hotels Hang 'No Vacancy' Signs For Gadhafi And Ahmadinejad

Apparently of all the luxury hotels in New York, Gadhafi and his retinue had set their sights on the luxe Upper East Side hotel on Central Park as his headquarters in New York, but after complaints from current guests (paying four figures a night, so they should have such a say), the hotel turned him away.
Now it looks as though Gadhafi will have to crash at the Libyan Mission; no luxury hotel and room service for this dictator.

New York: Libyan Dictator Might Be Ruling Over NY's Pierre Hotel Next Week

We guess Libyan dictator Moammar al-Qaddafi doesn't read HotelChatter (thank god), because he sure didn't read our Top Three Recommendations for him during his stay in New York for his meeting with the good old United Nations.
Instead, Luxist did some sniffing around in the news to discover that suites have been reserved in Moammar and company's names at several properties not on our list, like The Pierre, The Plaza, and The Hilton.
New York: An Unlikely Partnership: The Pierre Hotel and The VMAs

Yeah, we don't want to either.
Go ahead. Say it. Just like we're too old for most reality shows, we're too old for the VMAs. Young kids don't want the likes of us around them, trying to get into their groove thang with our beepers and our Cross Colors shortalls. (See, we just dated ourselves.) So that's why we promise to stay away.
But whether you like it or not, MTV's Video Music Awards are coming back to New York on September 13th, with British comedian Russell Brand set to host again. Also making a comeback? Free swag! Swag at events like the VMAs, the Grammys and the Oscars came under scrutiny
