Sydney: Wherefore Art Thou, Free Hotel WiFi in Sydney?

Aussies were drunk texting long before Americans, and now they're just as attached to their Blackberries and iPhones. But when it comes to Hotel WiFi? That's a whole other tragic tale ...
We thought what we wanted was simple: A nice hotel in the Sydney CBD for one night this summer. A place we could rest comfortably in between jaunts and get some work done—with free WiFi. We had heard horror stories of guests being presented with $300 hotel internet bills at the end of a stay but shrugged them off as urban legend. Sure, broadband internet access in general is a bit wonky in Australia—it's not as widespread, or

Sydney: 'Ruddy Good' Deals at Aussie Hotels Mean 'Ruddy Good' Things

Down in Australia, the government's decided to prop up the economy by giving most tax-payers a A$900 bonus, and with the money starting to arrive in everyone's accounts, hotels are among those trying to tempt people to spend their bonuses. And in Sydney, the "stimulus package" deals are a-flying freely.
For non-Aussies, the names of the deals probably seem a bit odd. You have to know that the Prime Minister down there, who is (in a sense) the guy who's giving out the money, is named Kevin Rudd; and that in Aussie slang,"ruddy" is kinda like the Brits' "bloody." It's home to the very well renowned French-influenced Bilson's Restaurant and the mountains of praise it gets in local Eatability reviews say it all (and these comments each come from satisfied customers):

I'm not sure how they've done it but the food has become even more sublime at this restaurant ... The food was exquisite - unique, delicious and so artistically flavoured ... Found the service to be very friendly and attentive ... it's definitely somewhere to dine at, at least once.

The Bilson's website also has a few neat features: you can make your booking
