HotelChatter's Favorite Hotel Beds Ever

Yesterday, we looked at some of the things you hotel guests do to send yourself off to dreamland in a strange new hotel bed. And not surprisingly, a lot of you said the most crucial part of your sleep routine was the comfiness of the bed--in that if the bed is good, there shouldn't be any problems with getting shut-eye.

So that leads us to the question--where are the best hotel beds? We polled some of our editors and frequent contributors from our family of travel sites--HotelChatter, Jaunted and VegasChatter--(yup, we're all related!) and asked them to submit their favorite hotel bed experiences.

While this particular W is never going to be able to hide the fact that it was first built to be a Radisson, then switched to a W at the eleventh hour, back in 1999, the latest interior renovations definitely raise the W SF up a couple notches in our book. We’re not much of a fashionista (unless the GO designer lines at Target count), but several label-conscious ladies in our lives faithfully follow Project Runway. And we'll admit, supermodel Heidi Klum is one foxy mama (emphasis on the mama bit as she's prego with her fourth kid!)

Not one to miss out on anything involving the words "fashion" or "stylish", is a W Hotel who regularly puts together hotel packages for NYC's Fashion Week and has even once partnered up with dress designer Diane Von Furstenberg. So it's no surprise to hear that W San Francisco is serving as a screening venue for the Season 6 premiere episode of Project Runway.

<![CDATA[<img src="http://www.hotelchatter.com/files/6929/wsanfran2.jpg" class="top"> News outta W Hotels today (well, news besides the <A href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2009/7/7/104520/9521/hotels/The_Congress_of_Cool_Will_Convene_at_W_Washington_DC_Tomorrow">opening of W Washington DC</a>): according to the <a href="http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/07/07/BU4O18KLKU.DTL&type=business">San Francisco Chronicle</a>, <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/tag/starwood hotels">Starwood</a> has agreed to sell the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/W+Hotel+San+Francisco/local/60">W San Francisco</a> to Hong Kong investment company Keck Seng Investments Ltd for $90 million. Per a statement made by Starwood, the sale was made to reduce the 'wood's debt but never fear, the place will still operate as a W. But the sale sort of sheds light on the sad-ish state of affairs in the hotel industry: <blockquote>The high-water mark for San Francisco hotel sales was set around April 2007, when Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces based in Mumbai, India, bought Campton Place from
