Looks like he's already acting the part.<img src="http://www.hotelchatter.com/files/admin/phelps1_front2.jpg" class="imgborder">A HotelChatter operative who just so happened to be down in Las Vegas last night experienced an encounter we could have only wished for in our wildest dreams: a run-in with Olympic champion (and keeper of our hearts) Michael Phelps. But, oh, goodness. It seems America's darling was acting a little bit naughty in sin city! <a href="http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2008/09/michael-phelps-playboy-club-strippers.php">Radar Online</a> reported witnessing a bit of drunko-Phelps debauchery -- namely, "massively skeeving on girls at the Playboy Club" in the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/The+Palms+Casino+Resort/local/40">Palms Casino</a>, which included ass-grabbery and absurd entourage members who shone flashlights in peoples' eyes whenever they got too close to the sloshed swimmer.

George Maloof, owner/hotelier of The Palms brand in Las Vegas, did a Q&A interview with Women's Wear Daily (the fashion bible for anyone in fashion and design biz) about the panic in Las Vegas over tourism drops and the lighter wallets of Americans.

Things we learn about George Maloof:

· He's a junior!
· He played football at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
· He wants the Palms to be the ultimate party hotel where people come to get away and "maybe [take] their minds off the economy."
· He still doesn't have an outfit for the hotel's Midsummer Night's Dream Party in two weeks.
· Sorta considers him a leader of Las Vegas.
