New York: The Five Best Hotels for the 2009 Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

This is our fourth installment and while last year's choices and anything in the vicinity of Times Square still holds true, we decided to do away with the old and bring in some new choices. And it looks like the Macy's Day parade will be trying something new itself on November 26th.
This year the parade will go down 7th Avenue instead of the old Broadway. The start will still kick off at 77th and Central Park West.
Sadly, the cast of Glee will not be performing at the parade, a lame decision

They're not, like, epic or anything, but the property has gotten some necessary tweakage.
Here's what we're looking at: custom-designed bed wraps (they have matching embroidered pillows, too) are debuting in all rooms. For the suite people, soft white embroidered curtains inside those suites — and some "chocolate brown velvet" sofabeds (which we hope look nicer than they sound) for the junior suites.
You'll see soft-white pleated lampshades, LED's instead of voltage bulbs, and grey leather-ish headboards (which the press release specifically states are to "bring back Sexy Time;

New York: NYC Celeb Roundup: Awkwardness at Le Parker Meridien, Fun at The Jane

For once, we have a report of some positive(ish) happenings at The Jane! Well, kinda: there was a party there full of celebs that seems to have concluded without incident. The movie Away We Go (a promising-looking Garden State-esque film starring the can-do-no-wrong John Krasinski) had its premiere party there, and Kate Winslet apparently showed up (her hubby directed the film) — notable, to Page Six at least, because where the The Jane is now was allegedly actually the building that "housed and sheltered all of the [Titanic's] survivors right after the 1912 tragedy, and a memorial service was held there at the time."
Kinda neat, right?
New York: Le Parker Meridien Has a Juicy Secret: Juicy Burgers

Possibly nothing is sweeter than checking into a fancy-schmancy hotel and finding out its secrets. Hopefully these secrets include at least one of three things: a guests-only roof deck, access to a glassed-in lap pool, and/or a hidden restaurant. Figuring that it's been a while since we last waxed poetic about the divine existence of the New York Le Parker Meridien's own secluded greasy spoon, and since it's a Friday, we decided to swing by the good old Burger Joint.

From Racked:

Standard hip men's salon perk: The barber chair is from the early 1900s. Less standard perk: They're offering lockers where you can store your shaving accoutrements.

Oooh, sexy. You can get a shave in the space between your hotel room and your front door starting at $30 (for a Standard Shave) — but we're not sure how NYSC compares to the similarly-swanky Rudy's
