'Smoosh' in Style at Thompson Hotels with Designer Condoms

Yes, you read that headline right. Thompson Hotels will now be selling limited-edition designer condoms at their hotels.

Fashion designer Charlotte Ronson (sister to Sam and Mark) has teamed up with Proper Attire condoms to create stylishly packaged condoms so that ladies will feel comfortable reaching for protection that isn't branded with words like "MAGNUM" and "Ribbed for her pleasure."

Instead, the condom package designs are tasteful and whimsical and come in three different types--color (hot pink), sheer and basic. Even better, each sale will benefit Planned Parenthood.

<![CDATA[<img src="http://www.hotelchatter.com/files/6929/shangwebsiteshot.jpg" class="top">The Shang restaurant at <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Thompson+LES/local/31">Thompson LES</a>, helmed by Toronto-based Top Chef Master Chef Susur Lee, has been on the Eater NY <a href="http://ny.eater.com/archives/2010/07/deathwatch_reprieves_ilili_paris_commune_barbounia_and_more.php">Deathwatch</a> for nearly a year and in their latest edition, Shang still ranks high. Back in March Lee <a href="http://ny.eater.com/archives/2010/03/susur_lee_blames_shang_failure_on_boring_new_york_palates.php">blamed the restaurant's failure</a> on "traditional" New Yorkers who really weren't into avant garde Chinese food. But despite the restaurant's shortcomings, the Thompson folks tell us Shang is still very much open and will continue to be. The hotel is even working with Lee on a larger menu for the fall season. Meanwhile, the reviews on <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/shang-new-york-2">Yelp!</a> are solidly average. Nanette Lepore to Put Her Feminine Designs on Thompson Hotels

The latest fashion designer to make her mark on hotel uniforms will be Nanette Lepore, whose girly, feminine designs we've always admired (and when feeling especially spendthrift, purchased.)

Lepore will now outfit the cocktail servers at Thompson Hotels' rooftop bars at Thompson LES and Donovan House in DC as well as the Hollywood Roosevelt's Tropicana Pool. Her designs will be a classic little black dress that hugs the body with, in the words of Stylelist, "sexy side-splits, ruching and a bustier style top."

But of course, this is not the first time that Thompson has partnered with a fashion designer to do their unis.
