New York: Got Tix to The World Series? They May Have Cost Less Than Your Hotel Room

That's definitely steep but if you're a fan, then money's no object. Your hotel room, however, is another issue.
Let's get to the good news first. If you're a lucky ticket holder, the Westin Times Square is offering a $50 credit in the hotel's Bar 10. Here's a look at what $50 will get you:

Yankees fans can snack on grilled sirloin sliders and crisp calamari fries, or throw back a few celebratory drinks in anticipation of their team’s win.
New York: The Days Before Thanksgiving for Under $200 in New York

But as it turns out, we need a place to crash three days before Turkey Day. (Turns out our relatives won't be around to host us in Jersey.) And since we're all about finding deals, we searched a few different places to see what we could find. This is what we came up with:
Expedia
· The Paramount Hotel: $129. Sure this is a ghost of Ian Schrager's boutique hotel heydey but it did get a redesign and rooms are going for $129 a night. One thing to note: availability of renovated rooms

New York: Paramount and Royalton NYC :: The Ghosts of Schrager

You know, before he started the game-changing Gramercy Park Hotel.
But ever since Schrager left Morgans Hotel Group, these hotels have languished to say the least. Recently, The Paramount Hotel was supposed to turn into a Hard Rock Hotel after Sol Melia (which bought it from Morgans) sold it off to Highgate Hotels. Yet sources tell us that Highgate has no intentions of renovating the extremely hideous and small rooms. Can they at least get rid of the vinyl artwork/headboard?
Meanwhile, word on the hotel grapevine is that the Royalton Hotel will be undergoing some major renovations.

Flickr member Suze07 snapped a shot of the "creepy headboard" that sits behind each and every Paramount bed. She writes:

I just didn't like the 'classic art as a headboard' idea at all. It was vinyl....and weird. (and had fingerprints all over it)

Now, this might be wishful thinking but we hope Suze07 is the same person behind the HC handle, RDZumbaugh simply because this would demonstrate the perfect storm so to speak of HotelChatter contributing--submitting a story

Not only are the box springs not a typical sized box spring size (1/2 thickness) but the bed frames are very short so the bed is very close to the floor. It is like sleeping on plywood - the floor probably would have been better on my back.
We had three rooms - some the bathrooms had moldy shower curtains - carpets that should be cleaned or moldy tile in the bathroom.
