New York: Millenium Hilton Gets Upgraded (But the WiFi Still Isn't Free)

Yes, high-speed internet connection is now available from anywhere inside the hotel. But? That convenience comes with a price.
It might be possible to overlook that minor setback and just admire the pretty new granite floors and earthy tones brightening up the whole lobby—if it weren't

New York: Millenium Hilton is Now Suing Ground Zero Over Construction Noise (And We Can Vouch for That)

When September 11 happened, one side of the hotel was completely blown out forcing closure of the hotel for nearly two years.
When we checked in with the hotel on the 5th anniversary of 9/11, things were settling down into a new kind of normal for the hotel, just like everyone else in the city was doing. But the hotel's proximity to Ground Zero with its strange mixture of 9/11 memorials and frenetic construction was unavoidable. And now five years later, it's gotten so bad the hotel is filing a lawsuit.
According to the NY

But the celebrations aren't over yet. The city of New York will throw a traditional ticker tape parade to honor the athletes tomorrow in downtown New York. The official route:

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Broadway at Battery Place and proceed northbound up the fabled Canyon of Heroes to City Hall, at Chambers St.
At City Hall, the Yankees will be presented with Keys to the City at 1 p.m. by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

You don't need a hotel room to watch the parade

New York: Inside NYC's Millenium Hilton :: Rising Above It

So you say you've got to snag a New York hotel room for under $250 a night, well clear of Times Square and yet somewhat luxurious? That's a toughy, but thankfully there are options should you care to venture south to the very tip of Manhattan.
Recently, while babysitting our family during their visit, we had the chance to stay at the Millenium Hilton in the Financial District for the paltry price of $220 a night. What the hotel's location lacks in nightlife and culture, it more than makes up for with a killer view and gratuitous amenities.

They will constantly bring up price differences between New York and their hometown, so the hotel has to be running a deal.
· 2. Walking more than four blocks is considered extraneous exercise; the hotel needs to be next to or on top of a subway station.
· 3. If you don't take them to visit the World Trade Center site, you will be disowned.
More than fulfilling all three criteria, the Financial District's Millenium Hilton proved just right to satiate temperamental Midwesterners, especially since it boasts an indoor swimming pool.
