London: Claridge's London Taps Dior To Create Couture Christmas Tree

While hotels unbox the old Christmas tree and decide which color of glass ornament to throw on it this year, the renowned Claridge's Hotel in London is sweeping the foyer before the installation of their own commissioned haute couture tree on December 1.

The fantastical-looking sketch above is the work of John Galliano for Dior, and his involvement with Claridge's is hardly the first time the hotel has dabbled in high fashion; Diane von Furstenberg was rumored to be designing several rooms at the property earlier this year, and it's a favorite of many designers. Commenting on the tree he's designing, John Galliano even admits to being a personal fan of Claridge's:

Justin Timberlake has been largely out of the tabloids lately. Well, we take that back: he's been off our radar a little bit because his seemingly-stable relationship and not-tanking career have kept him off the covers, and his decently non-scandalous life does not appear to be any match for the Jon and Kate saga or the MJ situation.

That said, let's take a hot pause to avert our gaze toward the lovely JT, who recently did an interview with the London Evening Standard (we assume this is Justin, by the way, and not a Justin-impersonator with a Y chromosome, even though the headline says "Justine" at post time).

You’d think that with all them classy hotels around in London catering for all them A list celebs, there’d be one that came up to Victoria Beckham’s high standards, right? And among those classy hotels, Claridge’s would be up there with the best, no?

Um, no. According to the Sun and the London Lite, Posh and Becks fled the hotel on Sunday night, when they found it being seriously pillaged by the cast of EastEnders (which, for those of you not au fait with your Brit soaps, is like any of your American dramas, except the characters work in cafes and on market stalls shifting designer knockoffs rather than living off Daddy’s squillions).
