Just a week after <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2011/8/30/93727/1071/hotels/Now_It_s_Fairmont_s_Turn_to_Be_Kicked_Out_of_a_Hotel_">Fairmont Turnberry Isle</a> was let go from their management contract by the hotel's owners, the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/tag/rock resorts">Rock Resorts</a> brand has decided that, after just a little over a year open, they no longer want to run the <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/hotel-reviews/Tempo+Hotel+Miami/local/1343">Tempo Miami</a>. Miami : Tempo Miami is Still in Soft-Opening Mode But Only Until June

But apparently, the official opening has been moved up to June. We found rooms for this weekend going for $223 a night at the downtown Miami hotel but we also noticed this little note remained on the hotel's booking page: <blockquote>Tempo Miami, is scheduled for a full RockResorts opening in June 2010. As we've been waiting for the Hotel Indigo Miami Beach to open on April 6, another newbie in downtown Miami has quietly been in soft-opening mode. So, how is Tempo Miami doing in these early days?

As you might expect for a hotel in the non-beach part of town, one that hasn't had its big coming-out party yet, there hasn't been a lot of reviews yet. There are just three over at TripAdvisor, although two of them are positively glowing.

And, um, for those not familiar with our Friday afternoon strokes of genius throwing back to our high school band geek days, we shall clarify: a ritardando means, like, a gradual slowdown of tempo in music. Get it? Tempo? Slowdown? Delay? The property was <a href="http://www.hotelchatter.com/story/2008/9/15/103526/990/hotels/RockResorts_Sets_a_New_Tempo_in_Miami">originally scheduled</a> to open on April 15th (and back in September, the confident folks at RockResorts were encouraging people to book their stays for April) but the new opening date is listed on the website as "September 2009" and rezzies are being taken for the whole month.
