While Chicago gears up for its annual marathon on Sunday, October 12, a little something more personal is going on at Avenue Hotel, the city's newest property on the Magnificent Mile.

Not only is the Avenue Hotel offering up a "Marathon Package" starting at $279 a night (including a power breakfast and late checkout), but one of Avenue's own will be representing the hotel in the actual 26.2-mile marathon. According to the release, "Avenue Hotel's Assistant Controller Pablo Merchan will be running the Chicago Marathon for the first time this year, and provided partial inspiration for the package."
