NYLO Actually Bringing Its NY Lofts to NY (And Chicago Too)

Ever since the first property opened up in Plano, Texas at the end of 2007, we watched an equally well-received property open out in Warwick, Rhode Island, then the company announced a spinoff brand called XP — and then went kinda quiet.
But this week, the Atlanta-based chain made some big announcements at the ALIS conference in (American Lodging Investment Summit) in San Diego that they've got plans for three more properties in Dallas, Chicago and New York, not to mention another half-finished property coming up in Dallas.
Oh, and to remind you: the NYLO name comes from "NY Lofts."

No joke.
ICOH describes it best:

The new NYLO in Warwick, RI is like finding a really good book. The "cover" catches your eye on the shelf, so to speak -- meaning that the exterior of the hotel is a wonderfully restored new england mill (part of the Pontiac Mill complex)

It's blue! It's NYLO!
We just got off the phone with the hotel, whose grand opening extravaganza is going on -- and from what we could hear in the background, the lobby sounds hip and happening today. And there actually may still be space for the hotel's very first official evening open: according to the staffer we talked to, there is still a bit of availability for tonight, with rates starting around $119. Give them a call and check it out -- or just stop by for a drink if you're in the area.
In the meantime,
