Yesterday we noted all the room renovations currently underway all over Miami. Today, we hear from one man in charge of some of those renos--Keith Menin, whose hotel group is on a bit of a makeover tear, from the Bentley Hotel South Beach and Shelborne to the The Sanctuary South Beach.
This off-the-beaten-track boutique hotel (that's still a hop, skip and a jump away from the best of Miami Beach) has been spruced up with more contemporary features and new shades of green and blue.

So if you’re an art geek or just like crashing artist parties, it’s time to start thinking about where you’ll stay in Miami for this year’s show, which takes place December 3–6.

With artworks by over 2,000 artists on display, Art Basel events will be held all over town, from South Beach to the Design District, where many of the artist studios are located. But the center of all the public exhibitions and events is the Miami Beach Convention Center, towards the north of South Beach’s Art Deco district.
All this means there are

Travel writer Michael de Zayas is in Miami on an assignment--30 Miami hotels in 30 Miami nights. You will be able to find his detailed travel musings in Miami and Miami Beach books later this year. HotelChatter asked Michael to let us know his minute-by-minute thoughts on the Miami hotel scene during his guide book mission, which he will be doing over the next two weeks. During the fortnight, Michael will share with us every bed, maid, drink, pool, henhouse and outhouse that comprise the Grove, Gables, Sunny Isles, North Beach, South Beach and the Key Biscayne hotel scene in 2007. If you wish to ask him a question during his jaunt, shoot it our way.
