And it's true that the exterior of this place looks kind of palatial.<p>Inside, according to the NYT, it's not exactly fitted out for royalty but it's satisfyingly good with lots of "soothing wood" in the décor. The Moscow Times reports that the Hotel Leningradskaya, an architectural vestige from the Stalin era, complete with baroque pillars, a six-story chandelier, and a pair of German-made lions in the lobby, has just reopened as a Hilton hotel.

Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov missed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the second time, but the hotel officially opened after several years of renovations, according to the paper.
