Rooftop Views Found in Ghana

You know the scene. You open the door to your brand new hotel room, run over to the window, open the blinds and bam, you are hit with the anti-view. Maybe you are looking down a dirty alley, witnessing a drug deal, staring at an air shaft in the face, or seeing a brick wall. Whatever you are viewing it is not extremely pleasurable. Help out your fellow hotel mavens by uploading your anti-views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number with the not-so-easy-on-the-eyes view.

Accra, the capital of Ghana, is actually quite a lovely place.

Ghana's Win Limited to Soccer, Not Its Hotels

With the recent World Cup game win over the U.S. causing high spirits for the people of Ghana, we're thinking now is the time if ever to look into this country's hotel situation. The Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra is arguably the country's best hotel with its 5-star status, although they still can't seem to afford having their own website.
But just as we started getting into the spirit of booking a hotel in Ghana, warnings began appearing that had us rethinking our world cup fervor-turned tourism interest. For a 5-star it appears that the Labadi Beach Resort falls short. Although the staff is described as friendly, they are also described as slow and hard to find.
