The art above the bed in this boutique hotel says "Vive La France" and the Queen of England appears in a piece of lobby art. But make no mistake about, the Bungalow Hotel is in New Jersey. The Jersey Shore, to be exact. And while we love the look of its clean, South Beach-inspired decor courtesy of Sixx Design, the place is booked out on weekends for the rest of July and August.

For this week’s Check In, Check Out column, the New York Times made a foray into Jersey chic. No, we’re not talking gold chain necklaces or even teased hair puffs (we kid!), but, you know, Long Branch’s Bungalow Hotel on the Jersey Shore.
The Bungalow opened in May and is the Shore’s first boutique hotel, with just 24 stylish rooms. They sold out their opening weekend — no small feat in this economy, no matter how small the property.

In this doom and gloom economy, we're happy to hear one good piece of news: Bungalow Hotel within the oceanfront Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ opened this weekend and was completely sold out. But, then again, it only has 24 rooms (which makes it a true boutique hotel where you can expect personalized service and attention).
Each room at the Bungalow has a flat-screen TV, a wet bar with a small refrigerator and floor to ceiling windows offering (at times too much) light into the room. Each room is decorated differently, but all have a beachy "surf hotel" theme with the pictures, furniture and decorations complementing the vibe. ]]>
Boutique hotels have finally made their way down to the Jersey Shore with Long Branch NJ's "Bungalow" currently under construction.
Bungalow probably won't open until Spring/Summer 2009 - but the plans call for a 24-room luxury hotel on the beach, a-la W Hotels. In fact, the developers of Bungalow are the same developers of the W Hotel Hoboken, and the design of the hotel will be contemporary luxury with attention being paid to the fact that it is a beachfront hotel.
