Chocolate Lovers to Be Joined by Green Travelers at the Hotel Hershey

If you’ve never been to Hershey, Pennsylvania, it’s pretty much inevitable that you’re going to fantasize about a chocolate scene that’s basically Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory realized. While that’s not quite the case, these days green gurus might find their own slice of paradise at the Hotel Hershey.

The historic hotel’s ongoing $67 million “Grand Expansion” includes 10 new cottages pending LEED certification, reflecting the original 1930s cottages (think Cratsman-inspired moldings and trim, mahogany sleigh beds, Quaker-style accessories) but also featuring recycled roofing materials, native Pennsylvania stone on the floors and fireplaces, and geothermal heating and cooling systems. And we’re not talking hippie mud shacks — these cottages have big pretty bedrooms and spa bathrooms.

The Hotel Hershey is Now For the Birds

The program educates participants about the birds and the sport's history and includes outdoor free-flight demonstrations, a gander at the bird's hunting techniques and the opportunity for a photo with a bird, <a href="http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/080813/utravel/travel_notes_misc__hershey">The AP</a> reports. The sport is open to everyone age 8 and up and you don't have to be a guest at the hotel to participate, though you will have to pay a little more.
